Ignite Drive Academy is a youth-focused driver training social enterprise established to improve access to professional driving lessons in Hawke’s Bay and to aid disadvantaged youth to access driver mentors.
The enterprise operates as the commercial driver training trading arm of Maca Sports Leadership Charitable Trust, generating sustainable income through paid driver training services while reinvesting profits into the Trusts free and subsidised youth licensing programme Ignite Drive.
The enterprise combines professional driver training with licence preparation.

Professional Driving Lessons in Hawke's Bay
A single driving lesson costs $90, or you can book a five-lesson package for $400.

Yes. Our one-on-one driving lessons can help you build the skills, confidence and safe driving habits needed to prepare for your Restricted or Full Licence test.
Choose either a single lesson or the five-lesson package above to start the booking process.
Please bring your current driver licence and wear suitable footwear and clothing for driving. You should also arrive on time and be ready to drive.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson. Late cancellations or missed lessons may affect eligibility for future lessons or test support.
Training may include one-on-one driving lessons, supervised practice, road-code learning and preparation for a licence test.
Each driving lesson is 60 minutes long, giving you plenty of time to practise your driving skills and receive personalised guidance from your instructor.
Yes. A training vehicle is provided for your driving lesson, so you do not need to supply your own car.
Lessons are currently provided in an automatic vehicle.
Yes. Pickup can be arranged when needed from locations within the Hawke’s Bay cities zone. Contact the MSLCT team to confirm whether pickup is available from your location.
Yes. Students can use the Ignite Drive Academy vehicle for their practical licence test. This must be arranged in advance and is subject to vehicle and instructor availability.
